Cookie Policy
The short version: one preference remembers your choice, and privacy-focused analytics loads only if you allow it. No advertising cookies are used by SpecStack.
1. What the website uses
This website uses necessary first-party preference storage and, if you give permission, Vercel Web Analytics. SpecStack does not intentionally use advertising cookies, cross-site marketing trackers or social-media pixels on this website.
2. Necessary preference storage
When you choose “Allow analytics” or “Essential only”, the site records that selection in two places in your browser:
specstack_cookie_choice— a first-party cookie containing eitheranalyticsoressential; expires after 12 months.specstack-cookie-choice— matching local browser storage containing the choice and its expiry time; expires logically after 12 months and is then removed when the site reads it.
This storage does not identify you to SpecStack or build an advertising profile. It exists so the site can respect and remember your choice. If you delete it, the choice banner appears again.
3. Optional Vercel Web Analytics
Vercel Web Analytics is installed but does not load through this website until your stored choice is analytics. When allowed, it helps us understand which pages are useful and how the site performs.
Vercel describes the service as cookieless and privacy-focused. Analytics events can include the page or route, timestamp, referrer, filtered query parameters, approximate country, region or city, device type, browser and operating system. SpecStack additionally removes the entire query string and URL fragment before an event is sent, so values such as a contact-request type are not included in the analytics URL.
Vercel creates a temporary visitor identifier from request information to recognise a browsing session. Vercel states that the identifier is not stored with the event and is discarded after 24 hours. Analytics results are presented in aggregated form and are not intended to identify or track a person across websites.
4. Contact form, hosting and external services
The contact form is not an analytics cookie. When you actively submit it, the details and any attachment are processed through Vercel’s hosting and sent through Resend to SpecStack, regardless of whether you allowed analytics. This is necessary to carry out your request and is explained in the Privacy Policy.
Hosting and security providers may process ordinary technical request data needed to deliver and protect the site. Sanity supplies public content and images. WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and other websites may set their own cookies only after you follow a link or use their service; their policies and controls apply there.
5. Change or withdraw your choice
Select “Cookie settings” in the footer at any time. Choosing “Essential only” stops optional analytics and reloads the current page when needed to clear the active analytics session from the page. You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser. The site will ask for your choice again.
6. Provider information
Read Vercel’s Web Analytics privacy documentation and Privacy Notice for more information about its data handling.
7. Contact
Questions about browser storage or analytics can be sent to the Information Officer through the private request form.
